Tbilisi (GBC) - Turkish-German airline SunExpress will start operating in Georgia from June 2023.

The airline will fulfill flights from Tbilisi International Airport to three cities in Turkey: Ankara, Antalya and Izmir. The Ministry of Economy disseminates information about this.

October was the first month after the covid-pandemic, when the number of flights in Georgia exceeded the indicators of the same period of 2019. Flights were performed with a frequency of 384-395, which represents an increase of 5%.

In total, in 10 months of 2022, Georgian airports served 3,716,700 passengers, which is 85 percent more than in 2021, and the recovery rate compared to 2019 was 81 percent.
