Tbilisi (GBC) – The number of dissatisfied commercial bank customers is on the rise, with complaints surpassing 3,001, according to July statistics from the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).

The majority of grievances, more than 2,000 cases (around 70%), concern issues related to current account conditions, service errors, and problems with card delivery and maintenance.

The second-largest category of complaints involves commissions and penalty rates, with 1,936 complaints submitted against banks and microbanks.

On the other hand, some products remain almost problem-free. For example, only 2 complaints were filed regarding savings deposits, while no complaints were recorded for term deposits or repair loans. The Credit Information Bureau also received just 4 complaints.

In July, a total of 3,001 complaints were submitted to the National Bank of Georgia by customers of commercial banks. Of these, banks considered 1,636 complaints unfounded, while 507 complaints were reviewed and a response was provided to the complainants.

Currently, 857 complaints are still under review. Among the complaints with completed review processes, only four cases remain unresolved.
