Tbilisi (GBC) - According to the interactive statistics of the NBG, the November card (Georgian card) transactions of visitors from Georgia exceeded 756 million GEL.
Mostly, more than 92% was non-cash payments. Out of 4.9 million, 4.7 million payment operations are performed through POS terminals and the Internet. Only 7% of card transactions are cash withdrawals.
The share of non-cash payments has also increased in the territory of the country. According to the statistics of the last reporting month, in transactions up to 5.9 billion GEL, GEL 3.4 billion comes from cards of resident banks, withdrawals of resident and non-resident persons.
November card payments in trade and service facilities reached 2.4 billion GEL. It was a 41% annual growth.
According to the data of 11 months, the largest number of payments through POS terminals outside the country comes to Turkey, exceeding 255 million GEL.
Israel remains in the TOP 10, with 39 million cases, which increased by 17% in October-November (9m/2023-34 million).
Remittances from Israel have also increased before the New Year. In November, up to $19 million was deposited, and in December foreign exchange flows from Israel reached $21 million.
