Tbilisi (GBC) - According to preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), Georgia’s foreign trade turnover in goods (excluding undeclared trade) reached USD 1,597.5 million in January 2026, representing a 24.2% decrease compared to the same period last year.

Exports reached USD 480.4 million, representing a 19.0% increase, while imports dropped to USD 1,117.0 million, a decline of 34.5%.

According to GeoStat, the negative trade balance for January 2026 stood at USD 636.6 million, accounting for 39.9% of the total foreign trade turnover.
