Tbilisi (GBC) - The Swiss Embassy has issued a statement regarding the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).
In their statement, the Embassy emphasises that FARA raises significant concerns about potential restrictions on freedom of expression, association, and the space for media and civil society.
“Georgia’s Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) raises concerns about restrictions on freedom of expression, freedom of association, media freedom and civil society space.
The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs’ Peace and Human Rights Division (PHRD) calls on Georgia to stay committed to its human rights obligations & democratic principles,” the statement reads.
