Tbilisi (GBC) – According to Geostat, the agricultural products unit value index fell by 2% compared to the previous quarter. The decline was mainly driven by a 7.3% drop in the value of live animals and animal products, which contributed -4.08 percentage points to the overall index change.
Compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, the Unit Value Index of Agricultural Products increased by 12.8 percent. The latter was largely caused by the 20.1 percent increase in the unit value of live animals and animal products, which contributed 9.11 percentage points to the total index change. In the same period, the unit value of perennial crops went down by 10.6 percent and went up by 37.8 percent for non-perennial crops, with the relevant contribution of -4.11 and 7.82 percentage points to the total index change, respectively.
