Tbilisi (GBC) - Ferry service between Georgia and Romania has started - from Constanta to Poti. The first rout operated by E60 Shipping Line started on June 27. The ferry will arrive at the port of Poti today, at 20:00, which will be the first successfully completed ferry service between Romania and Georgia.
The press release issued by E60 SHIPPING LINE states that the mentioned ferry from Poti to Constanta will depart on June 30 and will run regularly.
The press release of the company states that this is very important news for carriers and the transport sector in general and is the most important step taken to bring Georgia closer to Europe.
It took only 6 hours to go through customs procedures at the port of Constanta and load the ferry. The journey from Romania to Georgia will take only 42 hours, during which drivers will have the opportunity to stay in comfortable cabins and use the on-board restaurant, bar, entertainment area and Duty Free shop.
