Tbilisi (GBC) - The gold bar ended the week at the price of 1g/GEL 215. The NBG's online store closed on Friday at 17:00 until Monday, with GEL 214,990 (price of 1 kg gold bar) and GEL 4,299 (price of 20g).

On the last trading day of the previous week, the price of 1 gram of gold exceeded  216 GEL.

According to the NBG, 557 gold coins have been sold since December 4 (2023), including 8 pieces of 1 kg, and the rest of 0.02 g.

Most of them, 117 units, were sold within 2 days of the offer, on December 4-6 last year.

Since then, in 5 months, the price of gold has increased by 16%.

Against the background of geopolitical risks and the recent increase in inflation, the demand for gold has increased significantly.

Only the 20g bar can be purchased online, while 1,000 g bars are sold in the center.
