Tbilisi (GBC) - In April, the largest number of remittances from abroad was transferred via RIA, up to $70.7 million. This is a decrease compared to the previous month (03/2024 - $71.2 million). Annually, remittances via this system increased by 7.6%. Remittances via Western Union increased by 47%.
According to the National Bank of Georgia statistics, transfers in April amounted to 295.5 million. Analysts expect an increase in transfers and foreign exchange inflows during the tourist season.
Transfers from Georgia increased by 3% (Y.Y). Up to $32 million was transferred in the reporting month.
