Tbilisi (GBC) - The European Commission publishes the international ranking of the Positive Peace Index 2024, which is prepared by the authoritative international evaluation organization Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP). According to the ranking, it is determined that Georgia is the first in the region with a Positive Peace Index.
According to the Institute of Economics and Peace (IEP), Georgia moved up six places to the 49th position and received the status of a high level of positive peace. In addition, in the key findings, Georgia is presented as a global example of progress with historical improvement.
Georgia was named as an exceptionally progressive country in last year's Positive Peace Report. In particular, with the positive peace index of 2023, Georgia improved its position in the world ranking by 14 points and with a ten-year improvement, it entered the top five in the world.
According to the information of the Institute of Economics and Peace (IEP), with a positive peace index, Georgia comes next in the region: Armenia - 54th position, Moldova - 60th, Ukraine - 66th, Turkey - 91st, Russia - 93rd, Azerbaijan - 104th.
