Tbilisi (GBC) - The volume of trading in the interbank foreign exchange market decreased. According to the NBG's monthly review, the total trade turnover of $/GEL in March amounted to $266 million, which was $70 million less compared to March of the previous year (03/2023 - $335 million).
At the same time, the number of transactions has increased to 2%, while it reached 40% in the same period last year.
98.7% of activities in the foreign exchange market come from spot transactions and amount to $2.99 billion. The share of the National Bank of Georgia in total trade was 4.3%. On Bmatch, the central banks bought up to $128 million.
