Tbilisi (GBC) - Giorgi Surguladze, Director of Caucasus Auto Import, evaluated the effect of the ban on the car exports from Georgia to Russia.

According to Surguladze, this decision cannot change the market situation in our country, because the share of Russia in the total re-export is only 5%.

"The said decision will affect 3 companies operating in Georgia, which were exporting to Russia," - says Surguladze.

Surguladze notes that "Caucasus Auto Import" refused to cooperate with Russia from the very first day of the war.

The export and re-export of automobiles imported from America from Georgia to the Russian Federation has been prohibited since August 1, and the export and re-export of automobiles imported from the European Union will be restricted from September 26.

In the first half of this year, 3,786 units of automobiles worth $52.5 million were exported from Georgia to the Russian Federation, which in monetary terms is 274% more than the same period of the previous year.
