The capitalization of the stock exchange increased by 25% in the second half of 2023. In the first half of the year, by the first of July, it was GEL 2.8 billion.
The issuer is 3 banks out of 8 companies. According to the information of the business partner, the share of "Bank of Georgia" is traded at the highest price, up to 100 GEL, whose capitalization is up to 50% of the market. 28 million shares of the bank are admitted to the stock exchange. The total capitalization of Bank of Georgia exceeds 2.5 billion GEL, and the total number of shares is GEL 43.4 million.
"Liberty Bank" (BANK) is in the B listing. Also JSC "Green Insurance" and "Euphoria Hotel Batumi".
In the last category, the sanctioned "VTB" subsidiary bank, as well as the shares of "Telasi" and "Sarajishvili" are traded.
In addition to the mentioned securities, bonds of 21 companies are placed in the Georgian stock exchange system. In total, the exchange has 29 issuers.
Before the bond market became active, the number of issuers reached 33. The massive withdrawal of companies from the stock exchange is related to the regulations of 2018, which is why 60 companies left the system at once.
Issuers are required to prepare an audited report under the new accounting standard, which is expensive ($20,000) and not worth it.
On the exchange, listing companies, according to categories, pay quarterly, A- GEL 2,500 and B- GEL 1,500. The last category is free.
