Tbilisi (GBC) - In May 2025, the Construction Cost Index (CCI) increased by 0.2 percent compared to the previous month, while it increased by 5% compared to May 2024, according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In detail:
⦁ The residential segment index increased by 0.3 percent compared to the previous month and increased by 8.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year;
⦁ The non-residential segment index decreased by 0.7 percent compared to the previous month and increased by 1.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year;
⦁ The civil segment index increased by 0.5 percent compared to the previous month and increased by 2.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
In May 2025 the Construction Cost Index (CCI) increased by 0.2 percent compared to the previous month. The change was mainly due to a 0.3 percent increase in the prices for construction
materials, which contributed 0.18 percentage points to the total index change.
Compared to May 2024 the CCI increased by 5.0 percent. The latter was largely caused by the 17.8 percent increase in average monthly nominal wages of employees in the construction sector and by the 2.0 percent increase in the prices of construction materials, which contributed 3.62 and 1.23 percentage points to the total index change, respectively. Along with this, the Construction Cost Index posted a 23.1 percent increase compared to February 2022.
